September 20th: “Slick Attendee check-in with QR-codes – Low code style” (SharePoint Week Webinar)

(September 2021)

European SharePoint Office 365 & Azure Community is hosting SharePoint Week where there’s one live speaker session each day! I was the first one out on Monday, September 20th at 11:00-12:00 CEST.

The world is opening up and soon we get to attend events in person! Be ready to treat your participants to a great user experience by sending them a QR code with their attendee confirmation email and scanning it at the door – what could be easier? You can create the solution using SharePoint Lists, Power Automate Cloud Flow and Power Apps Canvas Apps – Low Code Style! Power at your fingertips and cheaper than buying off the shelf!

I created this whole solution in the tenant that we use for our “Arctic Cloud Developer Challenge” hackathon to use it as a case study on how it can work. The webinar session was more a demo on how all the pieces fit together than anything else – showing you step by step how to build this yourself.

I showed how to use Power Automate Flow to replace the invitation workflow and extend it. Furthermore, I looked into other options and extensions that are available.

All blog posts related to this session are found under the “Invitation Process” tag:
